What's the value of an NOS 12x28 blue cylinder? I have seen a few 12x27's but not many 12x28's.

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks I'm going to hang on to it, I need it for my Bolye Dayton Vizo. It took me a while to find a 28" and I see I probably paid to much for it.

Thanks,
Jim

IF, you need it, YOU NEED IT.
In 20 years, you can look back & think how CHEAP IT WAS for an original cylinder.

I agree with Dick if you need it you need it!!! The way the prices are going it would be a good deal in about 4 or 5 years I'm sure.

I think I paid $450 for it. I guess your'e right it will catch up with the price and I needed it. Now if I could just find the correct gallon markers for a Boyle Dayto Vizo I'd be doing good!

A set of markers just sold on ebay..

They are out there.

I dont think that is too much for a cylinder, a pump is not worth a lot without it. There are many pumps w/o cylinders that are reasonable bcuase of the cost of the cylinder.

I dont think that is too much, especially for an odd size like that.

I have some visible gaspump parts literature with original prices for replacement parts.......The cylinders cost $12.50 in clear......Add $1.00 for blue....Oh, but that was in the Mid- Twenties.....80 years ago!!!

There is a BD on ebay now:
6583002640

Wayne bought out BD before 1928, so that they would have an established west coast plant. One of their last pumps was the cut/model 1950 clockface about 1929-1935.

I haven't seen a lot of them, he (the one on ebay) doesn't have the right gallon markers for it. The correct ones look like old clock hands and there is an aluminum strip outside of the cylinder with the gallons, clock style hands are inside the cylinder.

Thanks,
jim

There were 3 types of indicators used on the BD & BD/WAYNE.
The ones Jim described with a # strip [early]
The ROUNDED style bell w/ black background &
The common style WAYNE [Mae West style BELL].
