Its been a few months since I shopped around for sighns but I noticed when I started looking around again seems like the prices have moved up some....but $405.00 for a 1947 mobilgas pump plate...awsome sighn by the way but seriously??

Was that for 2 or 3 mobil plates.HAH Just keep looking, I just purchased one from another oldgas member for less than a third of that price. Their are better deals.

I'm assuming (yeah, I know...) you are referring to an eBay auction. I'm also assuming that these days most people are arriving at the consensus that ebay is not a valid price/value barometer or indicator. The exact same item may net zero bids tomorrow. I know how tempting it is to jump at an item, but there will always be another one (or more) come around and more than likely at a more palatable price.

I assume that you were NOT at Iowa Gas Auction. The 1st MOBILGAS 5 point shield Pump Plate sold for $650 & the MOBILGAS [Drop leg] Special Pump Plate sold for $1300, 2nd sold for $1,050.00.
