I was lucky enough to score this fantastic example of the Mobil Heat porcelain sign. Of course the bottom portion was no where to be found when the guy I bought it from found it in his grandfather's basement. It was covered in years of slime & grime but cleaned up to what may be NOS or close to it. So I figured I'd give a few of you a chuckle and make this almost impossible request to see if someone has seen the lower portion of this set recently at a show? Also if anyone has a photo of the original hanging bracket I would love to see it. Would like to try to purchase one as close to the look for displaying it. Thanks

One sold in the CTO Matthews auction lot #61, but it appears the photos are no longer available. Maybe Dan can help you.

Randy its 15" wide x 14.5" tall. I noticed it looked a little different from another I have seen. The Pegasus is outlined in blue like the PPP. Holding it in my hand it seems right as rain. Double sided and it looks and feels legit. Not to mention I bought it from a scrapper who cleaned out his grandfather's basement and found it the other day. He knows notta about signs.

Randy, you made me dig out my library..lol. Only one I could find published (in the meager book collection I own) is the one in Amistadi's Book page 46. Mine looks identical to that one..Grommet placement and all. This too has the blue outline although I thought I have seen one without?

Never seen this sign before. Just pointing out the difference. In the top sign the bottom loop of the "e" doesn't extend far enough forward leaving a gap between the "e" and the 'a".

Yea I didnt notice the a...good catch. There are certainly at least 2 variations of this sign. The a in my sign is like the ppp's produced for Mobil.

Eric - I have the exact same sign you have including the bottom sign. I still have the original shipping box, so it is definitely a real version if the sign. Grommet location is exactly the same. Two sided on both signs. It is legit.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike thanks for the confirmation. I was 99% by the feel, look and story behind it but its always nice to get a 2nd opinion.
