Match the colors on the decal or signs, you will be much happier with that color.

Warren,
On the Shell it depends on the time frame.
Here are some PPG numbers I used on my pectin sign from the forties/early fifties.
Red DU 71660
Tan DAR "SC"
Yellow DU 81652

Matching colors to a decal is a good idea, but sometimes does not work out if you want close to correct original colors. I matched my Richfield colors to original paint that was on the inside of an original Richfield pump. Also mine is Westcoast Richfield. Eastcoast is differant.

Matt,

Any chance you could share the paint manufacturer and color code for your Richfield pump?

The PCM book has SW paint codes. When I look it up the yellow on the SW site, it says "safety yellow" which seems like it would be different than what you show.

I have a 1954 Tokheim 39 I'm thinking about doing as Richfield. Do you know if Richfield would be correct for my pump?

Thanks

Danb,

The pump I used to match the original colors from was a tall Tok 39.

These codes are from a Dupont Spectra Master color chip book.

While we are on paint colors, can anyone help with a paint code for Flying A Mint Green? PCM's Guide has the SW color as 43785 but the lady at SW says it is not in their system any more?

Thanks for the hint; however, my lens is red as is yours or so it appears in the above photo. Am I misunderstanding what you mean by lens?

Okay, you're talking about the lens from a globe. I have never seen a globe with Flying A, just ad glasses for the National pumps. None of the pump signs I see have any green either, just one of the water decals, which I assume you are referring to.

William, if you look above in the "header" you will see a listing for "Pictures" next to the "Bookstore"..

Click on it and then on "Globes". There will be 21 pages... You can go through the pages now (I recommend, that everyone take the time and page through the globes) or you can skip to page 18... To the globe at "Tidewater-Associated"; click on the globe and you will see 4 pages of different Tidewater and Associated globes....

Ok, but in any event, I do not have any object in my possession to color match it.
