Does anyone know if the aluminum faceplate trim and sight glass bezel ring on a 36B were polished or painted?I have a complete and original 36B I'm working on and they appear to have a thin coat of silver paint on them.(Could be oxidation). Also does anyone know what the average price for premium gas(Texaco Sky Chief)was circa 1939-1941?IndianRefining can probably help with this...
Thanks! Tim

Tim -

The surfaces which you mention were probably originally polished aluminum (or other "bright" metal) but most likely received at least one coat of aluminum paint, over the years - especially if it was one which I painted!

The price of Sky Chief at that time would probably have been in the neighborhood of 30.9, depending on the area of the country.
