Gary Brower sent in this picture of himself as a young boy with his Mom (in dark dress) and a friend. His dad worked at this Massena, Iowa gas station in the late 1930s before opening his own station across the road.



His question is, what was the smaller hand pump used for, the one to the side of the Wayne 60 series pump?

Looks to be a Martin/Schwarts 1gal.

Hard to say what they sold out of it, probly to fill Kerosene/Coal oil cans for home use.

Dicks right it a martin& schwarts , and the way the nozzle is its for distillates , white gas, coal oil, kerosene, I have one that was for Gas-o-lene, it has a 10 gal, clock face dial on it , = stationary side walk pump,

Gary , here are a few pictures of my Martain&Schwartz statioary sidewalk pump, used for White gas, Kerosene, Distillates, coal oil, and in some areas Gasoline, they could pump quarts, 1/2 gallons , and if you move the stab over full gallons, injoy,
