Hello all!!

I picked up this nice Red Crown globe from a guy in my town. I was going to flip it, until I got to talking with him. He used to own 4 gas stations at one time. All standard. In one of them, there was a red crown sitting on the shelf. So he and his wife took it home. He has had it in his basement ever since 1967!! He is a really nice guy. He said he would rather sell it to me and not some other guy who wouldn't care about it. And then he has a work bench and some other items from one of the stations. So I am going to go back for sure! Now I know what my first pump is going to be... Red crown. I will post pictures of my pump when its done, but here is the globe. Just awesome!!! I have only a few dollars left, but it is soooo worth it!!! I am going to try and get as many things from him as I can, and then restore a standard station. Hopefully including this one pump, a sign or 2, the work bench, a display counter, cans, maps, and counter displays. Hope you guys like the story. Enjoy!!

Thanks
Noah

Hold onto that one, make it a keeper. You have one of those rare occasions when you can buy stuff and get the backstory. See if he has pictures of the stations from way back when.

Agree with the other comments about hanging onto it. Some things are worth more than just money - especially when you can tie it to a local story. Nice score!

Okay Noah, you'll be 16 soon which means drivers license, cars, girls, etc. Will that Crown globe be able to compete? Hope so!

The history that you could pass along possibly some day for sure is why you need to always keep that crown , if you can come up with pictures that would be great , and be sure to post them for us. But you have a nice peice of history there that you will always be able to relate to, which make them my favorite peices.

I like SINCLAIR and old American made stuff ... No china items.
