i think it looks like the door release lever that you have to pull when you open the front doors and you have to open the small door on the side to get to it

The doors open with a knob that turns as already stated and circled in the picture. The part pictured above has nothing to do with the doors. That looks like the rod to turn the motor off and on.

I was going to suggest you buy a 766 Parts Manual from me, but I decided to look at the manual to see if I could spot the part.

It's not there, not even on the 756.

Dan, do you see the two center bars going across and attaching to the upright pump frame bars. Just below the computer. You will note that there is a latch assembly attached to the cross bar. In the picture you can see the front view and the rear view of the bar. If you look at the back of the door in the center is a brace that goes across and is placed at the same height as the cross bar on the pump frame. There is a slot in the door brace that accepts the latch from the cross bar. If you turn the latch from the back side and line up the latch so that it will fit into the slot in the brace as you are closing the door. Once the latch fits into the slot turn the lever further and it will lock the door in the closed position. Hope the foregoing makes sense.

Almost got it done. Just have to get a few more tiny parts to get ( door hinge, hose and weather strips and eventually a power x globe)

This has been fun for sure can't wait till the next one.

The nice thing about this pump was that it was a sinclair pump from the start. All original parts are on it minus the globe, which it only had a cover over the hole. The pump was in great shape to start with. The veeder still ran and the frame and bottom were very clean.

Looks good!

Take off the knob off of the light switch actuating rod. There should be no knob on it. The end of it has a knurled finish that simply protrudes through a black rubber grommet.

Dave,
It appears it has been changed; Push/Pull switch.
1st finished pic is w/ lights on & knob is closer to body,
in 2nd pic lights are off & knob is further away from body.

Wow, you are very observant DB. You're right original switch would be on when pulled out and off when pushed in.

Here is the Finished photo of the pump!!!
Pretty happy on how it turned out.
Big Thanks to Kevin F. for hooking me up with an original Power X globe(for a price!).

So lesson learned, never give up on a pile of sheet metal and junk! This guy had it in pieces for years. Only thing i had to buy was the globe and rubber, all the rest was there.
So thanks for all that looked at my first basic pump.

Now need a MS80 Script top pump!!! (mobilgas special)

You mentioned that you are looking for a Mobil Gas Special script top. I just picked up a very nice top. Pics can be seen on my site, under "For Sale Pumps." MS 80 pumps are easy to find. The tops are the real issue. P.M. me for the actual price. Paul www.severngaspumps.com
