Top one lacks the details in stamping of the Mane & Marginal Converts [Leading Edge & Feathers] on Lesser Under & Primary Converts of wings. Also lacks detail where one leg crosses over the other.

Authenticity usually means "real' there Ron.
He's asking which --or both are authentic!

My vote is exhibit B which IMO is the "Real McCoy"!

DB pretty much summed it up with the major differences which are even apparent without my glasses on.

It's the 6% that baffles me...3 members of this site actually believe the first one is real.

I went home last night and looked at mine and it has the wing detail and mane embossing visible from the back side, although not as pronounced as exhibit B. This could obviously vary a little bit due to different stamping pressures at the time of manufacture.

Has anyone ever seen a bottle coca cola thermometer? Made by at LEAST three different companys. Robertson, Donasco, and TWA. All are the real Deal. All very slighty different in there backing. Some painted, some raw metal, some fluted bottled, some not. This is the same case here. These things were made by different companies. Made for Giveaways NOT collectors items. They were made for a quick production. If the first or second one is a reproduction why is the internet not flooded with one or the other?

Here is a forum I found on oldgas. It shows another example. It has all the right back stamping but it is in black. Now what?

That one is talked about on page 22 of the Mobil topper book. The round hole instead of oval is the clue. 60' 70's repop
