...hey guys, take a minute to check this out, and please sign the petition... http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?pureoil&1 ...this is a link to some photos - it's a sweet old Pure station in GREAT shape... http://www.washingtonnc.org/photoblog/Gallery/ ...some church wants to demolish it, so they can have more parking spaces ...I'm about to lose my religion...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

A Baptist church in Shreveprt bought a whole block, tearing down a historic art deco movie theatre, a row of 1930s storefronts, and a 1940s gas station. Why? A parking lot.
The moved quickly before anyone had a chance to react or raise an issue. They're ruthless.
So ruthless in fact, that a petition may not be able to help. Very sad.
This is the best preserved, most detailed Pure cottage I have ever seen. Ever.

Hey, I live in McDonough Ga., our old Standard Station was turned into a visitor welcome station after renovation. It is a great attraction to our downtown square. Here is a link. http://www.tourmcdonough.com/home.html David

Pretty cool.
I've seen two neat old stations as visitor centers and welcome centers.
It's a really good use for a quaint station.

Everyone on here needs to get in on this. It'll take at least 1500 I think to work. So regardless of whether you talk or not on this site. Lend a hand. Robert

Guys:
I hate to break your bubble - but on-line petitions are virtually worthless.
There is no way to verify signatures despite the rethortic on the petition page - and I sure wouldn't be giving out my e-mail address to ANY web site that was not 'secure'. And this one doesn't look secure to me.
To each his own - but I sure hate getting bull-pucky in my e-mail every day.
Later . . .
Jim

There was a Pure cottage in Ripley, WV that was as nice as the one in this petition. It was purchased several years ago by a used car dealer who demolished it and put up a 24 x 24 "Lowes" garage to detail his cars in! What a loss....and the guy considers himself a "car guy" (he has a few tin signs in the garage). I hope they save the building with this petition.

T-way is right on... online petitions are virtually worthless. Be careful out there.

T-Way and others, dont you have a free email site set up for such things? I set one up on yahoo and use that for things like this. It gets tons of junk mail. I have never had junk mail on my "real" email address. It might be useless, but cant hurt.
