I have a friend with a 1905 quartersawn oak cabinet with a leaded glass front and 3 different dispensers in it, one with original oil.
Who could I find that could appraise it?

Thanks,
Kris

Kris:

First off - Welcome!

Now for your question.

I've never seen one with leaded glass for the window portions. Usually, it's just flat 'float' glass or beveled glass. The ones I have seen sell for about 3K if they are in good condition. But it depends on how many people want it. It might go higher at auction if more that one person desires it. Remember, you gotta have a good chunk of floor space to display something like this.

Later . . .

Jim

Kris,Welcome to our Gas and Oil Home, there are a lot of guys here that are very willing to help.A photo helps as condition is sooo important.
A BOWSER as you describe yours sold at the General petroleum Auction for $5000 + 10% buyers premium .I believe the leaded glass was only on the door.
Jack Sim author and member of our group has his Gas Pumps book for sale on this site he has a Bowser 80 ,1901 listed at $2700.
Hope this helps.

Last year on ebay there was one listed. The seller was trying to retire on the opening bid of $250,000.00. IT NEVER got a bid.

The one in the General Petro. auction was in excellant condition with original finish.

T-way and the book are in the ballpark on value.
