I am confused about the signal oil colors. I see Red, Red and Black, and a complete restored station in Portland Ore. done in Creme. Who knows the correct color? Tom

Most all of the original pumps I've seen are a red/orange color like in the add glass. I have an original visible that is that pea green. As far as that gas station in Oregon I have seen it but don't know if the color they used is an original color. In one of the books I have it tells what colors and what years they used the colors. Can't remember the book and I am not at home. As far as cans I have a lot and black is heavy on cans and pump plates as well as signage.Ted

Tom,
Our family radiator shop was located behind a Signal station. We had the same landlord. Our building was painted by the Signal folks and it was creme as was the station building. I remember the sign on the roof was also painted by the Signal sign painter, had the Signal colors as trim. After 50 years I can't remember the pattern. After Tidewater took over we had to paint our own building.

Thanks for the information you guys. This is a neat website. I am working on a Bennet 996 and want to paint it like Signal oil. I think I will go with black sides, and a creme front and back. Something different. Tom

Tom if you go to the Seattle Bash this weekend a friend will have a Wayne 70 done in signal there. If you like the colors I'll give you the paint codes. Richard

Tom,

I have some paint specifications for Signal stations stashed some place. I will try and did it out in an attempt to answer your question. I live in Auburn, so not too far from you.

Regards,

Scot

I will be bringing the wayne 70 restored in Signal gas to Seabash 08. It has black sides, top and base with yellow doors. It's not the correct paint colors for a signal pump, but it looks good.
