It still amazes me that something like this was found on the floor of an old building within the last year. It seems every few months another relatively rare item comes up for sale that was just or recently discovered hidden away somewhere. This should give all the naysayers that think nothing is left out there a bit of hope that it IS still out there to be found!
It should be neat to see where the globe ends, assuming is makes it that far.

Cool globe! A rare one too... Kevin picked one up that was broken into 3 pieces and glued back together awhile back. Really nice globe! Hope someone here can get it...

Check seller's other items. I had not watched him for a while as he has had mostly movie theater related stuff for the seemingly past couple of years, but in the past he has had a lot of neat and rare items. I have bought from him before also, and he has been great to deal with.

I am curious to understand the psychology of 21 bids already and the end is six days out. Unless one put in an insane number because they would be out of communication, it makes no sense to me to bid ahead. Just running it up like Proxibid also. Why not mark in in your Ebay saves, be there at the end for a rare piece like this and decide what you can afford?

Rob, I am talking to more and more Collectors who tell me they are now "throwing out" small bids on Ebay. Their reasoning is to ensure a Seller; That there is real interest in their item(s)...

The hope is, that if a Seller sees good interest in their item(s); They will be less apt to pull the item before auction end... Based on a premise; that if there is real interest in the beginning, there will be a "rush" in the last few seconds...

Does it work? I'm not sure... For me personally; My Ebay Experience is an: Ebb and Fall, like the tide..... The Tide, during a Hurricane! ..

And, when I'm on a "losing streak"; It seems no matter what. I will get sniped at the end; or the auctions will end early... LOL

I don't know Rob....I've always thought that the people who bid early and often know they really have no chance of owning the item, but like to be able to tell others in the hobby, "Well, I had the high bid on that Texaco globe for a day or two". We all know the serious bids come in during the last few seconds of any auction, which I'm sure will be the case with this globe, there again assuming the auction runs its full course.
