The sign looks more like it's from the 60's and as someone pointed out it didn't mention filter which probably came in at $15 It was probably some kind of loss leader anyway. When I worked for Firestone we used to do a safety inspection for $1 just so we could find something to sell the customer.

I was just at an oil change shop for a safety inspection certificate and license decal when I overheard the oil technician decline to change the oil on a car because the mileage since the last change was too low. Now when does that happen! Made everyone's day in the waiting area.

Discount Tire turned me away last week because I was 200 miles under the recommended tire rotation mark.
Rotation was free,but still..

I wonder if they included striping your oil pan drain plug threads like the quick lube places do around here! Seems like we see one a month come into our shop striped. Not Funny
