I just met a guy at the supermarket to look at his two Mobile Pegasus signs. (he was in town on business-Craigslist contact) They are both porcelain, flat steel, have some damage to the legs, have metal tracks on the back for T bolts. But, no name, date or trade mark. One is 4 foot 3 inches from hoof tip to hoof tip (L to R)and the other is 5 feet hoof tip to tip. He wants $3200 for the larger one and $2800 for the smaller one.
He acted insulted when I expressed caution about if they were real and would not come down on the price.
Can you advise me about these two signs please?
Thanks, Bob

No pictures. I forgot my camera. There is one bullet bullseye in the upper body, and the legs (front and back) got folded back a bit and the porcelain is flaked off, about 4 to 6 inches. The rest of the sign is pretty good. The smaller one is worse.

Have these been repoped and what is the value?

Thank you,
Bob

Bob, Without photos, no one can give you a real estimate of value... Original Pegasus can run from $850 to $10k plus... Depending on size, condition, type of Pegasus... etc...

Yes, Pegasus' have been "popped"... Most of the pops have no mounting brackets on the back... But, we all have seen Pegasus with "home-made" brackets that look nothing like the one's from the factory...

Sounds a bit "pricey" to me if they are the style I think they probably are, but as everyone has said without pics no one can really help and be certain about an estimate.

Did seller post pictures in his Craig's List adv?
For what he is asking EACH, I wouldn't even consider buying from the Damage you mentioned.
He will be Lucky in 10 years to sell either one.

Agree the damage is done. Price is too high.
They made one with no boarder and one with a blue thin boarder. Always check for the angled brackets on the back. All flats marked with a T## are fake. Only the large cookie cutter ones were marked with a T##.

The ones you are talking about is about 2800 max on a minty one.

Thanks,i had a pair at one time--about 30 years ago i shipped one to Chicago with leg damage which is common on some this style smile

At that time i sold it for $500.00 plus shipping. Not bad for that time!
