My wife wants to buy me something oil & gas for my birthday in early Dec. So if you have anything Sunoco, Pennzoil, Mobil(Gargoyle), Texaco in the $300-$400 range or less that you want to part with, please get in touch with her at her email. mcoppens@metroparent.com Her name is Melissa.
Of course NO repops.
Please be fair with her as to value:condition ratio cuz she has no idea. But I will certainly know when I open it.
At our price point, with the exception of the Sunoco/Pennzoil Tins, I would expect any of the signs I've listed to be mint or near mint. And some would be mint at 2/3 our price point. I'm counting on the integrity of the Oldgas membership. Becuase again, she just doesn't know.
Some suggestions and some cheaper suggestions.
I need the the following cans in condition 8 or better.
Anything Sunoco with the old sunburst logo. (condition may have to be below 8 on these)
I need 5 of the blue and 5 of the yellow Sunoco cans below. Must be dated 1946.
I would love a 5 qrt pennzoil of some kind.
I need 10 of the Mobil Gargoyle qrts shown below.
I would love any of the lubrite qrts with the red stripes.
I need 3 of the bottles shown with the swirl along the bottom and the square embossment up on the neck.
A Texaco Skychief pump plate.
Any Sunoco or Pennzoil tin sign.
A Mobil Gas Special plate dated 1946
Either of the 2 Flying A plates shown.(not really sure of the value of the one with the green in it)
The Gargoyle sign shown. (a few chips acceptable on this one for out price point.)
Either the green or the Red Royal Conoco plates.

Thanks for you time!!

I sent her RedHotRelics E-Bay information - I'm sure that will help out.

Just Kidding...sounds like a great spouse.

Oh damn! That means I'm gonna get a $50 dollar present for $200! Bummer! grin
Just kidding. I really actually feel kinda bad about that post yesterday. I dont want to raz on the kid. It just seemed a little extreme in that instance. Looking at his page it actually looks as if he's gotten quite a bit more realistic in his pricing.

In reality I know this is kind of a strange post but I'm just not that big on presents so she never has a clue on what to get me. So if she's gonna get me anything it might as well be something I want/need for the collection and fun.
