Hi, My Dad has a Bowser Red Seal gas pump. He believes it is from the 1920's. There is no globe and it is not a visible. It is apprx. 5 ft. tall and it is the kind where you crank the gas by hand. I am looking for information and possible monetary worth.

I don't know about a Red Seal, but someone (June ?) just sent me these images of a Bowser 241 Red Sentry with the doors missing. Closeup: A different 241 with doors: ------------------ Jim "Oldgas" PottsYour host and moderator

Nice pump looks to be in original condition. It is a Bowser model 241 it is worth about $500.00 - $800.00 maybe in the lower price range since it has no doors. It is from the 1910 era. Is your father going to keep the pump or redo it? Would be interested in it if it is for sale Keep us all posted & welcome.

Without doors and cover plates, my guess is $250-300. The doors & cover plates were made of castiron and are not easy to find in any condition. Dick

I agree with Dick, With out doors these arent worth much. I passed on one that was still sitting on the tank in a very small town in WI because of no doors. I dont have room to put a pump that I may never find the doors for. It was a GB with the square base. It had some other problems too but they could have been fixed.

Unfortunately I do not have a picture just yet, but I'm working on it. The Bowser pump my father has does have doors. He does not plan on redoing it. I believe he wants to sell it but I don't know what kind of condition it is in right now. I'll keep you posted as I find out more. Thanks.
