I just picked one of these signs up and I have a question because I want to be sure or at least try to be sure that mine is not fake. I've never seen one of these in person and I'm believing mine may be fake.
I noticed in this thread that the one on Mikes' wall does not have the registration "R" in the bottom of the diamond and yet the ones on your rack do? Are the ones on the rack repops? Was this sign ever repoped? Mine has the "R" and is somewhat thin. And it is like NOS perfect like those above on the rack. Also I dont believe mine is porcelain. There is thin shelving but I could see where heavy baked paint could do this also. Were the originals porcelain or paint?

Thanks for your help,
Steve

All were paint Steve and they were made both ways. If it has 6 holes, thin tin and painted, it's real. Never seen any repops when I was trying for about a year to find another one in excellent shape. Yours is real!!

Thanks
Mike

Few years back at Iowa Gas a Guy had a box full of NOS signs like this with the original paper between the signs I should have bought them all but I only bought one.

Wow!! Excellent guys! Thanks very much!
I had bought it through a proxibid auction and kind of on a whim. I was actually there for another piece and then this came up and it seemed reasonable so I went for it kind of last minute without really reading the description very well. When it arrived and was kind of thin and even the back looked so clean I got nervous. It does have the 6 holes, 3 per side.
Thanks again!!
