I got this Pegasus in 1988 from an old Mobil station in Portsmouth Iowa.Today i gave it to my son as an early Christmas present. This is the photo he sent after hanging it in his shop.I mentioned to him that if he keeps it as long as i have had it (25 years) he will be the same age as i am now--78 years old.

What is "ownership" anyway?
I have collected various things since I was 8 years old.....a long time ago now....at least in terms of an average human existence. I am still uncontrollably addicted to all things vintage for their beauty and historical significance. All the while I comprehend my mortality and contemplate what will be the next era for any of the items I so cherish.
I am certain there will be a great many things left the day I take my last breath but also realize I have an obligation to see that these artifacts are passed on to someone who will also value and respect them in a responsible manner. Better that we make the conscious choice to disperse rather than face adversity and it becomes a forced necessity. It is brutally certain we do not last forever so, although it will be hard to see things go, it will be rewarding to know a legacy shall continue. The only "life" these inanimate objects possess is that which we breathe into them through our interaction. As a result, while it has come and gone, your 25 years of appreciation will not be in vain as you, yourself, have become an integrated part of the piece's history......more than likely the very reason it continues to exist today. In my opinion, that has great value, is a noble pursuit and a most worthwhile achievement.

Wait a minute ... we can't take it with us? Nice move, Frank. Nicely expressed thoughts, "OK Used Cars."
