Most of you will remember my wanted posts looking for an Erie light socket to finish my Erie 53 and I even offered $100 reward for a good one. I had several old gassers send me pictures of units that they thought might work but to no avail! One Old Gasser from the east coast had the proper units but they were in pretty bad shape and he sent them to see if I could use the parts! Everyone was very, very helpful but it seemed there weren't any available in Old Gas land!
Well it just so happened that Tom Buckles had looked thru all of his parts several times and could NOT find one for me, but he recently picked up a load of parts from a pump rebuilder that had quit, and when he finally went thru all the parts, he "FOUND ONE"!! He sent me a couple pictures to make sure it was the right one, and I told him to send it!! When I asked him how much he needed for the part, he simply said "MERRY CHRISTMAS" and finish your pump! Well, the part arrived today and I haven't cleaned it up yet, but I'm sure this will clean up beautifully and be the missing link to finish up the lighting on my pump. I want to publically thank TOM for remembering me when he found this piece, and to send it to me with a simple "MERRY CHRISTMAS" wish was totally awesome! Tom is an amazing asset to the pump collectors within this hobby and I want him to know that I truly appreciate him for all he does!
TOM--YOU'RE THE MAN!!!

I've been dealing with Tom for more than a year as we trade and buy pump parts from each other. He has helped me finish several pumps and not once have we quibbled over the cost of parts. His willingness to help another collector is what I would have expected.
Kevin's post is the type of post I like to see on Oldgas!

ive bought a few parts off of tom... best thing about him is when you ask him 'how much?'... he comes back with a very reasonable and fair price - no need to negotiate back n forth. just an honest price right up front... which is rare to see, especially at shows!

Congrats Kevin on finding what you needed to do it right!!
I remembered and found one of your original posting about this project. Did you ever find the hexagon globe for it? Post pics of the progress or a link if you already have. I can't wait to see it. These pump just may be my favorite. Even over the romans. They have to be the most majestic looking pump out there.

I agree with the comments here about Tom Buckles. He's friendly, honest, prompt, and fair. Can't ask for more than that.
