Mick Dschida,(Oldnfuelish), is the man!! He repaired my vintage Cooper 'hesitator' clock over the holidays. It arrived today in perfect shape. I hung it on the wall & lit it up. Looked great. Then I wondered if it was possible that there was a ghost of a chance that it would fit inside of my NOS 1950's Cooper tire. What are the odds of a perfect fit & perfect combination? Now how can I hang it or display it? I'm very happy to say the least, since our family name is Cooper!
Displaying not so easy. In a stand up high like on top of toolbox. Hanging I would think a wood structure to go up in top of tire then a plate to attach to wall. Don't know how far your clock goes back in tire.
It's dark now here in the east & the clock lit up is super. The tire is an original NOS Cooper Cushion 8:50-20. I remember in the 50's that these were used on big Buicks etc. The can of the clock fits perfect into the tire with about 1" of lip of can sticking out to hold in place. I couldn't have planned this any better if I tried! Thanks again Mick!
Wowza!!!! It is hard to believe that is the same clock we were standing in front of and pondering over all those weeks ago and wondering how it would look when restored. Above and beyond what I would have imagined it to look like restored and the video really does the movement justice! What a great job on the resto he did and what a super piece you have!! My advice on displaying.....huge bargain fire sale on all of your remaining nice pieces to make room for it to be shown properly!! lol. Cannot wait to see it in person tomorrow. Super nice clock Sam!!!
Looking for early valvoline, freedom-valvoline, franklin pa items, Galena
Hey Mick, never got my spinner working that we talked about so looks like I will be calling you soon to either ship or bring it to you at Peotone, if you are interested in looking at it for me ?
Great story, Hesitators and spinners rule. Never saw the cooper before, rare one for sure. Mick you have too much time on your hands. Ron Lease-Collector ;;;;;;;;;;
