Restoring a wayne 70 tall pump. It has the sight glass but no ad glasses. however I am thinking of adding ad glass above sight glass. Was in rough shape but coming along well. However wiring was shot so I wanted to rewire. Trying to take apart fixture did not go well. Could not get conduit apart. Need a light fixture in better shape so I can rewire or one ready to use. Please let me know if you have one or know where I could locate one.
thanks

I believe I have one out at my farm, in my parts room. What did you destroy when taking it apart?

It just wont come apart. Tried heat, tried everything I can think of. Cant get conduit to come apart fron fixture so I can rewire and put new sockets. All the access cap snapped off when I put a wrench on them. Figured it would be easier to just get a different one.
thanks

You really don't need to remove all the conduit to rewire it. If some of the conduit is plugged with the black--tar like substance, just heat it up while being tipped down, and the stuff will run out on the floor.
That black stuff was just generally used for a couple inches at each end of a pipe, so getting it out is usually not a problem. Heating usually loosens the wire coating too and allows the wires to be removed more easily.
If you haven't broken any conduit, you're in great shape, and if you have, it CAN be replaced. As far as the access cover, they were usually aluminum and were generally stuck and easily destroyed. They are easily obtainable.
I think yours can still be used with a bit of luck and I know where to send you for parts if you break something. Keep us posted, and we'll help you thru it!
