Mick, you may have already tried... But, have you tried making a paste out of toothpaste? And gently burnishing the inside of the lens?

I've got a 1920s (maybe earlier) tin of Whiz Reflector Polish.. The tin is "welded" shut or I would send you some of that... The compound would "eat" through that plastic in some 4 or 5 seconds... LOL

...anyone tried the headlight restoration kits for this kind of thing?
