OK, so all pumps down under are called BOWSERS, BUT what is the Manufacturer of this pump?

this pump was made by Hammond.... to my knowledge made specifically for Shell (that's why the Shellmex name) but have done it other brands.... hard to find literature or photos of these back in their day but they are a sticking pump.

Furthermore, onto your bowsers in Australia... yeah the "bowser" brand is a manufacturer in the USA of course but somehow over the decades a lot of aussies (Australians) picked up the term for a petrol pump as a bowser... even during the news programs when they speak of an increase cost of crude oil, they somehow keep on bringing up "that the public will feel the pinch at the bowser" ... its more like slang down here....

Hi all thanks for the great comments on the pumps. Firstly Frank the bowser in the blue is called a bulls eye made for a petrol company called Ampol back in the 1960s and 1970s, by a manufacture called wayne

We call your gas pumps, petrol bowsers. That's our terminology.
The manufacture of the petrol bowsers are wayne or Gilbarco, hope that clarifies a few things.
Tony
