This month I thought I would do something a little different and go with independent oil companies. So what I mean is any company that was not affiliated with any other company. Please post if you got it thanks

Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes.

Here are a couple of independent globes I have. The first one is my favorite globe in my collection. The second globe even though they used the same name and same colors they are not related.

Looked around at my Gasoline related signs and I don't think these were affiliated with any others. Weren't all older gas companies independent at one point before being acquired or closing? I have a Pennant sign before Sinclair does that count as an independent? Might have a few more that qualify for the thread.

That magic gas sign is great. Who wouldn't buy their gas for the car-after all its Magic?
No matter what company uses a big cat for a logo, it looks greaaaat. Well except the early Gilmore cat.

Dave,

The "Cavalier" art work (back of truck) is killer art work!

Were any signs made with that art work?

Square Deal Oil Co had 5 stations listed on this 1949 map but later became a Phillips distributor.
1950 Simpson Oil Co map was later was owned by Sinclair.
1959 Drake's Refinery Stations map was Lansing, Michigan based with 30+ stations that have been sold individually.
1955 Speed King is an unknown that I followed leads toTwining, Michigan,Napoleon & Defiance, Ohio with no luck.

Hen ; I don't know of any Cavalier signs but they may exist.
