Quick Question... (or series of questions) I've got this Tokheim 65Gal lubester: I want to put an old lubester sign I have (Gargoyle). The sign has a bolt hole in the tab. 1) Did the lubester signs mount on the calibration bolt? 2) Can this lubester even have a sign? 3) Won't it throw off the calibration to have a sign on there (This is a working Lubester). That calibration bolt goes all the way down inside the pump cylinder... Who knows what would happen if I tried to take it out... Thanks much, Wes

Wes
I mounted mine on the calibration bolt but it was the other type where the bolt is on the top of the pump. You use a second nut to hold it to the top of the bolt. I have also seen them mounted on the spout arm with a special bracket for ones like yours.
Don't know if that helps, but there you have it.

Thanks Curt!
Sounds like what I need is one of those brackets. I could make something in the fab shop, but would prefer an original, or at least something that looks original.
Does anyone have such a creature?
Thanks, Wes

Wes, I'm sure you would be much happier with a homemade one, rather than a RUSTY bent original. OR you can look for the sign that is made for the pipe attachment. DB

Contact Dick Mills. He has some laser cut steel lubester sign brackets. I just did a Mobiloil lubester and used one of his brackets for the gargoyle sign.

I bought my bracket on ebay. Could have been from the guy mentioned. It worked well.

I contacted the person selling the brackets mentioned above, and found that he does not have the type of bracket that clamps onto the outlet pipe. I was also shocked at how rudely he responded.
Anyway, if anyone has such a creature, I'd very much like to see a picture as well.
Thanks, Wes

I took this pic at the Auction in NY that I went to last Nov., the lubester, far left front had a mounting bracket like you are talking about, a poor picture of it but maybe you get the idea, it was simple, like a conduit clamp, etc. and puts the sign parallel with the tube. I can see if there is a better pic I took once I get home, or maybe I can enlarge that area if nobody else comes up w/one by then. [This message has been edited by tokheim (edited 02-13-2006).]

Hey thanks Tokheim. A conduit clamp, eh? I was actually thinking about doing something w/ a conduit clamp the other day - that might work well. Just a bolt through it with a nut, and a second nut to hold th sign to the bolt...
If you have any closer pics, I'd love to see them. If not, that's ok -- I think I'll end up using a conduit clamp otherwise.
Thanks, Wes

Wes: Here's my 30-gallon 'Polarine' Lubester. I bought one of the newly made 'brackets' that show up on e-bay - and made the rest. It's just a piece of flat aluminum cut out to the correct shape, painted white, with custom made decals applied to both sides. The whole she-bang attaches with a nut to the top of the adjustment bolt/stud assembly. Later . . . Jim ------------------ www.T-waysGraphics.com

I don't know if this will help any more but here is a closer shot. I used the same bracket as Jim's.

Thanks Jim, and everyone. The above bracket really isn't what I'm going for, as I don't have that nut to attach the sign. When I do make something, though, which I will do this week, I will post pics.
Thanks again, Wes
