Got my first globe today !! obviously it's a Sky Chief and I believe it's a Gill body (glass)? I actually think I love it LOL, such a nice piece of craftsmanship and neat such a fragile item has survived so long. I was so excited and nervous when assembling it my hands were shaking ! Got it all together, lit up, and mounted in it's new home. Thanks for looking ! Got some really cool porcelain Texaco tanker letters to but having trouble uploading photos, when I figure it out I'll throw those up as well.

Yes that's a gill body globe and a nice one to start with. Be careful it starts with one then five then forty. They are like roaches they multiply
Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes.

Pete, Nice globe! I just picked up my first globe also,they are so much better in youre hand, then they are on the computer screen! Congrats! Hope you have many more come youre way.

You're hooked, you just may not realize it yet. I have about 25 now without having a place to display them well. I have to make my self not look at and for new ones.
Don't apologize for the other stuff, most people here have varied interests.

Nice globe. But watch out and take advice that they do become addicting. There is crack in the lenses or something!!
