Picked up this oil can cabinet the other day. It is missing the front and back doors, but should make a good display rack. Was hoping to get some info on this unit. It appears the company is Dispay Service Cabinet? Also, appears that a display of some sort may have been attached to the top. Any info and pictures would be appreciated. In the market for the lower side door also. Thanks,

Not a Seloil (Modern Metal). Much smaller company, I have an ad from them somewhere.

Any recommendations on how to clean off the paint layers without damaging the original paint on the tag?

This is a link to an older thread. This guy makes parts for oil cabinets and I'm pretty sure he can help you out

...I'm going to wager that the tag DOES say 'Modern Metal Products' when you get the overpaint off of it...some of the patent numbers match, and the type along the bottom edge seems to match the Sel-Oil tag shown...perhaps it was made before they named the product line 'Sel-Oil'?

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

My mistake, it a Seloil. It is a model 72 because it holds 72 cans.

A couple of pictures of it are shown on the web address above.

Thanks Jack! Looks like a tent shaped advertsing sign was an option for the top of the model 72. Any close-up pictures on how it was attached?
