Hi, great site ! I am restoring a Boyle Dayton 78/79 air operated viza pump.....cant seem to find out to much about these, ie year, etc. I ordered some parts which were slated as Boyle Dayton parts but when I received them they were incorrect, cylinder was 12 x 27" and it looks like I need at least a 12 x 28, rods were way short and wrong diameter, gallon indicators I received were not even close to the originals.....they sent me the Wayne solid cast which have rectangle ends (originals are round) and the Wayne's were about 27" and the original are about 29 1/2" so......here I am back to square one ! can anyone give me any insight on correct parts for this pump ? Thanks, Steve Z

BD was bought out by WAYNE about 1928 so they would have a West Coast manufacturing plant. The 78/79 pumps were 1st made about 1926 & probly a couple years afterwards.

Contact vendor where you bought parts, they should correct the mistakes.

Steve I've got a model 87 the cylinder was 12 1/2 X 28 but a 12X28 worked for me. I don't know anyone that is repoping the gallon markers, the ones I had were a tapered brass. Most of the repop are 27", I don't know of any 29 1/2" so you may have to fab your own. Like Dick said contact your vender they should be able to tell you what is available. If you get over my direction stop by. Richard

Thanks for the reply's.....gotta love this site ! I am going to fab new rods & just make them shorter to accomodate the 27" cylinder, as far as the gallon markers I guess I'll just keep my eyes open, swap meets, ebay, etc or like you say just fab these also.....I've seen some pretty cool repo's for an american pump that may work but not sure how long these are ? anyway, thanks again for the help and Richard, I'm always down Walla Walla way & I'd love to stop by sometime ! Z
