I have a one piece milk glass globe that came off of a Tokeim cut 850. There are no markings on it and it is in great shape. It is not the "lollypop" shape, the front and back are pretty flat. Any idea how old it is and a possible value. Thanks. Scott

I'm pretty sure its not, there are no holes in it to attach anything, when I got it there was some very small amounts of red paint in the pores of the milk glass. I know a picture will help alot. I'll try to get one up in the next day or two. Thanks for the help. Scott

Sounds like an advertising globe. I got this one with a Butler visible I bought awhile back and when I asked about it here that was the consensus.

Scott: I've been looking for one of those. Stop by and see The Keeper and me at Cheese's show. I'd be interested in the unit if you decide to sell it. Later . . . Jim ------------------ www.T-waysGraphics.com

Scott, advertising globes were produced for various business advertising. The business would paint their logo or whatever on the globe. They were usually displayed on wall mounted sconces or poles. Ice creame parlors, flower shops, and drug stores were some of the users. Although, not an expert on these and I don't follow their value, I'd guess the globe's value at about $200.

No offense intended Gary - but the last few that sold on e-bay went for about half that. Of course, if more than one person wants something on e-bay, the price can get insane. Later . . . Jim ------------------ www.T-waysGraphics.com
