I recently bought this Bowser 97. My biggest question is how does it operate? I get that it has a pump handle but how does it operate beyond that? The shaft on the upper part indicates gallons and has what look like stops but it doesn't seem to move or do much of anything.

Next question. What should the top look like? In the book it shows a canopy and globe but I don't see how that would attach to the top. I don't see any bolt holes on the top.

I obviously need some parts for this pump if you have them. I will post in the items wanted section but you can see what I'm missing. If you can provide pictures and/or measurements of the things that are missing or are damaged on my pump please post them or send them to me. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Chris,
Yours is a 97, the 99 has a AIR OPERATED attachment to turn the pump handle shaft.
On Jack's web site, 2nd image down & pump on Right is the 97 [1st image & Left image is the 99];
http://petrolianacollectibles.com/bowser%2099.htm

2nd ??, your missing a casting approx 3-4" tall that Bonnet sits on & globe Plate w/ 2 1/2 rings bolt to.

3rd ??, the cross over is connected to 2 Geared Racks that Lift the center pump Plunger.

Until you find an Original Bonnet, a 1/2 of a double stamped steel porcelain Sink cutoff the apron will work.

Thanks Dick. I knew it was a 97 but they seemed very similar. Do you know how it operated? I see gallon numbers on the shaft but do they do anything? Should this shaft move or turn? I just cant see how it operated.
Do you have any pics of the casting I'm missing or that bonnet and globe that sit on it?

Thanks Dick! Anyone else have pics or reference info?
Dick. Am I missing the "center pump plunger"? I'm still trying to figure out how this thing operates.

Gallon selector should turn to # wanted, as plunger comes up it will stop at that #.
Riser is hollow cast, same size as opening. Elect. wires pass thru for globe.

Is the plunger missing? Blocked by the plate in the crossover?

Lug on Cross over casting hits the gallon stop.
On top of Riser there needs to be a 7 3/8"dia disc that hold 2 1/2 circle rings. Ea is held on w/ 3 bolts.

So I understand the lug on crossover casting hitting the stop now.
Still not sure about the riser or the top. If you know of someone who can give me pics that would be cool.

So on the crossover. Should there be something that comes out of where that block off plate is?
