Have a 13.5"x22" blue visible cylinder I want to list for sale but nervous as to packaging it up so it doesn't shatter into a million pieces during its shipping journey. sick (I used the OG search and looked in the FAQs, but only saw shipping for large signs). Anyone have any experience or suggestions on packaging it up safely?

Thanks,
-Paul

Bubble wrap cylinder box standing up with lots of peanuts inside and out,4ins of space.
Double box with 4 more ins. of space, more peanuts. double support the outside carton with double layer of cardboard.
Make it noticed that the easy way to ship is cylinder (box) in up right position.
Pray over it and send it off with insurance.

Would not box it in plywood as it will get throw around like a rag doll.

Here is how I did the last one that I shipped.

Cut two pieces of 2" pink Styrofoam in a square larger than the diameter of the cylinder.

Shrink wrap the Styrofoam to the cylinder tight, so that it cannot move around.

Wrap in many layers of bubble wrap and shrink wrap.

Put in box with bubble wrap tight inside box.

Put box inside another box with at least 3 inches of packing peanuts between the two boxes.

It takes quite a bit of effort to package, but will survive.

I have also seen people ship them in garbage cans...

Cardboard/Fiber Drum w/ locking/clamp lid is better than Garbage can.

Great advice guys...Thank you!!! I definitely would have messed this one up if I hadn't asked. I imagined building a wood crate, but not now. I really like the box/barrel inside another box method. And definitely gonna pray over it when done. cool

Thanks,
