Trash it!
It was suggested to me awhile back to keep the electric motor and use it for a buffing wheel or grinding wheel kept it but haven't re-purposed it yet.

I have one on my 9" metal lathe, was re-wired to run either way.
Still works great after 20+ years.

I was the first to suggest you make a buffing motor out of it, because that is what I did back around 1990. But, now with the price that Harbor Freight charges for a buffing outfit, it isn't worth the time to clean up the motor and buy the stuff you will need. As mentioned above, the scrap yard.

Don't throw it away.Once it's gone,it's gone and can never be found again.
If you don't want it in the pump itself, remove it & keep it near the pump for the next owner who will most likely want it.
Yours is one of the remaining few on the planet that still has it's guts. It's worth more if you leave it in,then the current scrap price of 10¢ a lb.
Too many of these have been removed due to owners shortsightedness, and it's really a shame.

Open the intake and drain it of residual, then button it all up.
You can use oven cleaner to cut any varnish buildup on the pipes, motor, etc,as well as make it stand out from the gutless others.
And if keeping it outside, you make it more difficult to steal.
Don't make future generations have to guess about what a gas pumps guts looked like.

If its complete I leave it as is if its going in my collection. If its a good deal that needs a good home then 99% of the time I do it with a saws-all and it takes me about 10 minutes or less.
Presto- Chango!

Haul it to six shows and then when you don't sell it, then gut it and get back surgery.
