there is a few of them around from Trottiers diner and gas station in old Quebec

So it's real? I took it to be fake. Also the head on the plate is facing the wrong way. Was it a Red Indian station ?

not fake, and yes the indian head faced both ways on certain items,,,

Yep it was a real place there is pictures of it around

As I recall, in the book "Dining on the Inland Seas", which is guide to Nautical China from the Great Lakes Region of North America, these plates were purported to be from the McColl Frontenac fleet of ships, which of course they weren't, and this has led to mis-information about their authenticity. Just my opinion.......
