I have a problem with a tall 39, that I needed two doors and now have both done and straightened. Problem is that I now have two doors with the hinge on the right hand side. Is there a way to change or switch them. Took everything apart and tried to change the hinge and hinges, they will not work the other way. It seems that I now need left handed hinges and hinge.
Anybody have a suggestion ? Switching doors at this point is not much of an option.

Leave the hinges off. Put the door in place then latch it. I have an unrestored tall 39 with missing hinges and the door stays in place just fine with it latched.

Matt is right but just make sure you hold onto the door when you open it the next time or it will be laying on the floor.

Very good suggestion , and I will have to do it unless I can come up with another method. They do not make left handed hinges ?

Just take the hinge mounts off a left hinge door and weld em in place. Minimal bodywork will be needed. If you need some left side hinges then email me and I'll send ya some. I wouldn't not use hinges on a pump restored to your quality. They will surely get scratched when moving the pump Craig. Do it right the first time and save yourself troubles later.

Ok Clinton, You are right. I should have paid attention to this point with the hinges at first. Could have the hinges welded by someone that will not screw up the metal. I would have to grind off the other hinges that are left on the door though right ?
Thanks

Craig

Yes. But use a 3 inch cutting wheel and just grind off the welds from the back side. You won't damage the outside skin.
