I have an early Bowser Oil? or gasoline pump, pre-visible in wooden cabinet with roll-top cover to close it at night. Being new, I don't know how to post picture yet. The tag says S.F. Bowser & Co. Inc. Patentees and Manufacturers Self Measuring Oil Tanks Pump number 110120. I assume when they started making gasoline pumps around 1913, that the tag would maybe say Self serving gasoline tank. Any information or thoughts appreciated. It was obtained from a 94 year old Houstonian, who said it was for gasoline. Thanks, Wowser

Wooden Cabinets were made for use inside General/Paint Stores. Most metal Cabinets were made for use at stations.

Yours appears to be a Fig. 52 1st made in 1901 [& any ones guess as to how long afterwards].
[BOWSER used Fig. instead of Model # on early items]

Most like your was made to Dispense Kerosene/Lamp Oil/Mineral Oil, etc. Later it could have been used for what ever.

Is yours a 1qt or 1gal at full stroke? Not many would use a 1qt pump for dispensing Gasoline.

There is a Selector rod w/ a plate on base marked 1pt, 1/2qt, 1qt or 1pt, 1qt, 2qt, 3qt, 1gal.

In picture above it is missing the grate above the drain pan, Hard to find item. Until you can find one, use a gas stove grate.

Here is a Restored Cabinet on ebay, BUT it's Minus the Pump & Tank. Also it's being offered by a WISH FULL Seller! $6000.00, IF totally complete & Highly Restored, IMO still Not worth what they are WISHING FOR.

I have one in the cabinet. Same as Wowser's. Mine has no rust on the pump. I also have dozens of pieces of oil cans etc. of the Era. Was my grandfather's, then father's, and I brought it home after he passed away last year.
