Looking for any info. on what this pump may have been used for. I have not been able to locate any information on this in any of the usual reference books. Looks like a 70 in the center - though wider- with 60 hump sides. Stands about 53" tall about 60" wide.

I believe you have a Wayne 72-R. It is not pictured in my book because the only picture I had of one of them was not a picture I took. The owner of the picture must have had some problem with me as he refused to give me permission to use the picture in my Gas Pump Identification book. It will be pictured in the revision of the book when it comes out.
The 72-R was a pump that was disigned and patented by Firestone. It was used out front of their stores. Some collectors suggest this pump was for use at airports, but I can find no confirmation of this and since Firestone designed the pump (I have a copy of the original patent record) they most likely use it.

Here is is what they look like unrestored, for them that don't know.
3 parts pumps were found By Bruce Witig of Az. in Yuma in May of '04. He was able to complete 2 of them.

Even if it does look like a fat tub of lard, it's still an art-deco tub of lard, so I like it.

That looks like Firestone blue on those pumps.

Are there some kind of dispensers or storage in the hips?

Back in the early 1990s at Iowa Gas the guy across from me had one of these pumps. He and I hee-hawed all day over the price, he wanted around $500.00 and I was offering around $450.00. We never did get together. The pump had Firestone ad glass and was complete. One I really regret letting get away.
A very unusual pump, and while it may look strange, it is definately a great addition to any gas pump collection. Everybody can find a restore a Wayne 60, but how many of these 72-R are out there?

The 2 that I've seen [Iowa Gas & 1 of Witigs] didn't have anything in the hips. Would have been a great place for air & water reels.

I got to meet Bruce and do an interview with him at his home/shop in AZ two months ago, where I got to see one of the 72Rs restored and a second in the early stages of reassembly...we'll explore his story of their recovery in a little further detail in the feature article that should be in the March issue of CTO!

About he use of these pumps: I had a Firestone ad that showed a station with these pumps. It was hand drawn, not a picture.
I don't think they were for airports, the picture showed them in use at a normal firestone store.
I sold the ad, I think I might have sold it to Bruce. There was a picture that I posted of the ad on this site, still may be here.

I remember the good old days when gold was worth more than rust!
