Talking about good hunting... took me 4 years to bag this ice cooler. Finally went down yesterday on the way home from Dixie Gas.

hey Doc, you know coca cola, do these signs look original to this cooler to you?? if you enlarge you can see the C in coca and the A in cola are partialy under the framework, and the tail is under frame work also.....Have you ever seen these signs in a cooler before, or were they an after thought???...lol

Yeah, I just got plain lucky on the cooler. I have admired it for years in one of the antique stores I stop at regularly. The price never has been on it, always on a piece of paper stuck behind the counter and they couldn't find it. When they called the owner the price was too good to pass up. Makes up for that arrow.. smile

i've seen a few of those coolers over the yrs. i'm thinking those were made before things were standardized around 1929 with the introduction of the glascock coolers. before that time, alot of stuff was regionally made.

Sold the cooler today to a nice couple looking for an accent piece in their home. Sorry to see it go as I'll likely never get another, but I'm happy it went to a home where it will be appreciated.
