There is no fair value for a sign with damage like that. When a sign is severely damaged, they become unique in their own right, and the real value becomes what ever you can get someone else to pay for it, and that isn't a true value because its only for that individual sale and there are no others like it to draw a conclusion from.

Probably close to what you paid for it.

I'd say $100-250. It would look nice somewhere with a rustic theme.

KW's right about there not being a specific value you can pin down on signs like this. I've seen guys ask and get even 4-digit numbers from them from some people. Being a pre-war T it's desirable to someone who doesnt' have it yet and they might pay $250-400. Someone with an artistic eye might pay double that range. And then there are those who will give you half that figure.

Personally I think it makes a nice survivor statement in the $350 range.

The first sign I ever bought is a sign like that. It is in a little worse shape with aprox. a dozen bullet holes. I paid $170.00 dollars plus $80.00 shipping on EBAY about 3 years ago. Call me crazy, but I think it is really cool.

These signs are working their way up to being like the 5-6-7 Chevy post cars and 4 door wagons; as the supply of nice and desirables dwindles and the price rises accordingly so goes the value of the "lesser" signs. What keeps this one from being easily saleable at a decent (for the seller) price is that big hole in the middle. Condition aside, these Texacos are still not that hard to come by. All that being said, and to answer your question, in a locale such as mine, It should pull 4-5 hundred fairly easily.

thanks for all the input (even yours Mr.Bennett). I will contact the seller to see if he will take 0 for it but he wants an offer better than $200 & I didn't know a fair value.

Thank you
Scott
