I am starting a quote on a Erie 129-22 Gulf pump with polished top. It will require all the exterior metal panels replaced. Does any one have the parts? Or does anyone re-pop these parts? Also how are these panels retained? I see large flat head screws up and down the side of the doors where they meet the side panels. Are these screws or a retainer of some sort. Thanks in advance!

It might help if you would attach some photos.

I have an Erie 129 and 129B Gulf pump. The 129 uses 4 flat panels (2 sides, front and back) that are held in place with side trim that "pinches" the panels to corner posts with 5 screws. The 129B has hinged doors that have holes in them for fastening on decorative corner trim only.

Jacks book doesn't show a 129-22.

...the Erie 129-22 came after the 129B...I'm pretty sure the Erie 129-22 originally had a stepped steel top, and the stainless dome tops were retrofitted...but I might be wrong...

...I don't have one in front of me, but I believe the 'screws' on the door panels should have clips on the inside, that rotate and lock into slots on the side panels...I don't know of anyone reproducing the doors...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I think your right Mark, there are 3 screw cam locks on each of the 129B doors. (Forgot all about them.)

I just went through all the parts manuals for the 129 and the 129, 129B and the 129-22 are all identical pumps on the outside. All have the stepped top. Incidentally A.O. Smith also made this pump.

...well - not quite, Jack...I have the same manuals (got them from you!) and learned there are several cosmetic differences between the pumps - as well as the other manufacturers...I'd hoped to send you pics of all of the different versions for inclusion in your new Gas Pump book...

You were at the top of my list to ask about these Gulf Oil pumps. As you know, the companies didn't bother to make sales literature for them, so my only resosurce is pictures that are in Parts Manuals. Please take a look at the book and if you have anything better than what I have used I would really appreciate having a copy.

Thanks to everyone who has sent pictures.

Jack

Does anyone have a complete pump they would like to sell? I am willing to go in a 350 or so radius of Akron, Ohio.

Also I will be traveling between Myrtle Beach and Akron. April 19 through April 23 if anyone in that area has a 129-22 Erie or similar that they would like to sell. Thanks!

Back from my trip. Still looking for this pump. Is there one out there? Restored or not I need it. Thanks!
