Ok guys - this kind of caught my eye on the Model T club site because the "purple" lens they are talking about is EXACTLY the same color as the "blue tent" visi cylinders...
http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/23325.html?1168468126

So = did they make them with "blue tent" originally or did the sun do it to them like it did the Model T lens.

Made with a tint.
ANY glass that has been exposed to the sun for long peroids WILL have a rainbow of color & WILL NOT be evenly colored.

...plus, they tend to turn amethyst in color, and not aqua, or 'blue tint'...also, I'm told that some unscrupulous bottle dealers will put clear glass bottles/insulators in an old x-ray machine, turning them purple...I've seen the results, but not 100% sure of the method...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
