I have expanded my Lubester lid collection lately and I wanted to wait until I got them repainted before I posted any pictures! I have a girl here locally that is very talented with a paint brush, and she has done some lubester lids for me before with great results!
The Texaco lid came from ebay, and was pretty rusty when I got it. I love the restored look of these things, and the Texaco has enough different colors to really stand out!
The Socony was purchased from another Old Gasser and the simplicity of it really appealed to me. It was already in primer when I received it, so painting it was only natural!
I have had the Magnolene for several years and it was painted red with white letters when I got it, but it was so drab looking, that I had never displayed it. I used the background from a Magnolia sign for the coloration and after it was all done, I had her paint the Magnolia blossom on it freehand! It really turned out nice and make the lid very attractive!

I bought these Cities Service cast lenses at Iowa Gas last year and I finally got a nice enough body to install them. Body is NOS and a really nice piece in itself!
Another great addition to my growing collection of Cities Service globes!

Good evening all, I went to an auction locally here yesterday, it was posted on here a while ago, "Bert and John's" auction, lots of good stuff, the prices are very strong around here, they did very well. I picked up a few cool items:
A 6x3 B/A bow-tie sign.

A gas pump topper sign:

A cool maintenance and oil change holder:

And after I put a manual in it and a coupla oil change stickers in it:

And a coupla lots of cans:

Have a good evening.
Ken.

great buys everyone, i love the skychief pump

for me saturday was a fantastic day, I went to take my first original gas pump globe, it's a 1940's clamshell globe for shell in milkglass, sadly it's cracked but it's still complete and not in bad condition, it's really difficult to find some here in Belgium as many didn't survived war and bombing during WWII

I had to find a good place for it nexto the my other shell cans

I also found an elektrion conical can from 1940's

One gallon chassis grease can.

I was finally able to add to my Veedol collection of one. Now I have 2. Lol

It feels like there is still about 1/4 left inside.
