Green Field (Giant Center) GAD 15-21. My wife and I attend all the U of MN Gopher basketball (men & women) and men's hockey. That's the only life I have in addition to the mail order. Ron

I guess I'll rehash this thread. Upon recomendation to contact Ron from other restorers on this site, I requested a total from Ron on 1/31 he finally gets back to me on the total on 2/13. After 10 days of waiting for a just a total price via e-mail, I figured he's busy on bigger orders so I buy the few menial parts from another vendor and don't place the order.
Today, I figured I'll give him another shot and send an e-mail requesting a total price. His quick response this time is :
"I'll pass. You wasted my time on an Eco order a month ago. Ron"
I'm kind of new to this, but I guess I learned my lesson. I'm glad theirs other places to go to order repro parts from. I don't like giving a business a thumbs down, but I don't like being insulted, especially as a customer either.

Must have been a misunderstanding,as Ron is one of the most pleasant guys to work with in the hobby.and he works hard to keep up with the tons of orders he gets.things do happen. Not a bridge I myself would ever think to burn.
Looking for gas,oil related clocks, especially neon and spinners .clock repair available. Mick

As the OP on this thread, I'll just say that if you're going to order through Ron you do sometimes need to be patient. But you also need to understand that unlike other parts "vendors", Ron doesn't maintain a store front, staff, or anything else...one man show. And he is the ONLY one that I know of that makes cast iron reproduction pieces. If it wasn't for Ron's work (among others) many of the truly rare pumps that have needed resurrecting never could have been completed. If you need parts for your Wayne 70, you have plenty of options, but if you need something for your Wayne 800 or National Duplex, you'll be thanking your stars that Ron does what he does for the hobby.

Wow! Ron's the best! I just got a call from him about an hour ago to clarify something on my order. He's a one man show and does a lot of business so you just need to be patient and order a couple weeks before you need it. No problem! He is also the ONLY source for many pump parts. Who else is going to reproduce faces for a Tokheim 800? No one! Ron does a great service for gas pump collectors and I appreciate it. Thanks Ron!

Ron is the man. Never had a problem with ordering from him, as far as I'm concerned he's one of the best in the business.

Having done restorations for over twenty years, the first time I used Scobie parts, was an eye opener. I've used parts from other vendors which I thought were quality. Ron's parts fit as if they were factory. No need to re-drill, adjust, re-thread etc. as with the stuff I had used. As said before, they are dead on perfect. Priced well and delivered in a timely manner. Good man, great parts. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Well you sure screwed up this time, that foot will never see the light of day again. Other Vendors WILL TAKE NOTICE.

Mr. Bennet I'm not sure what your point is, but are you trying to bash me or Mr. Scobie?

Getting back on track. Count me as a satisfied customer of Ron Scobie several times over.
