I'm doing some history on Mobiloil and wondered if someone could tell me what the intials " ARC " and " AF " stood for on the Mobiloil quarts. Thanks

I think the arc is for arctic.

I may be far off wait for another post to confirm or not.

AF is just a grade nothing special
ARC: Most of the time is for winter
Straight off the Gargoyle Chart.

I woul think AF must mean something. Everythings must have a reason.

in a '35 mobiloil lubrication chart they refer to AF as above freezing & it is SAE 40w
artic is SAE 20w & 10w
may need more input.. cool
