Close minded people Dave . Rather than sell and get some cash sometimes I think they enjoy seeing people worm because its not for sale . Freind of mine is a retired postmaster and told me the same story as he tried to buy a visible that was in a fence row in a rual area once and same thing ,farmer shoved the entire row off in a pile one day , but never would sell ..... Makes me sick to hear those stories . Can't fix inbred !
I like SINCLAIR and old American made stuff ... No china items.

I have had very little luck purchasing something that I found hanging on an old building or sitting in a junk pile. It seems that when you express interest, the owner gets nervous about pricing the item. Never understood that.

I think with some they would rather see it buried or destroyed than go to someone else.Maybe it is closure; whoknows ? Skewed philosophy...but it is what it is. Vacant lot now. Dave

about 15 yrs ago, i tried to buy some pumps at an old station (was a salvage yard at the time) on a state road near here & was told "not for sale". they started widening the road from 2 lanes to 5, so stopped in again right before the road work took out the island they were on. was told "not for sale" again. stopped by again a few weeks later on a day they were closed & construction had proceeded to raze the island just to see if they were taken up & moved around to the side/back. didnt see them. after nosing around a bit, i starte back to the truck & heard something go "crack" under my foot, so looked down. i had stepped on the window glass over the computer on one of the pumps. they had been razed along with the island & were fixing to be paved over. such a waste...

I found a building full of old electrics(30-40) once. Same thing. Road widening took everything. Dave
