Finishing my first air meter .have a question that's probably basic to most ,but here goes. How do you hook up to air inlet ,its not a 1/4".The male coupling fitting is a 1/4" compression nut for copper tubing .Spoke to Ron already, more ideas would be appreciated. Thanks again

Original way was with a quick coupler, then a short rubber hose.
If it was a pedestal unit, the rubber hose was attached to a copper tube.

We eliminated all this. Go to this page of my website: http://petrolianacollectibles.com/eco%2090%20parts.htm

Look for part number 7116 in the wall mount section.

Actually, I also have NOS quick coupler and short rubber hose if you want to keep it original.

Email me if you have any questions, jhsim@petrocollect.com

The fitting size you are looking for is 1/8 NPT. Fittings are readily available, no need to spend a ton on money ordering pieces that you can have made up locally for less then the postage.

According to ECO literature, everything should be 1/4" ID. Most of my customers want to keep their meter as close to original as they can, that is why we offer original NOS parts, and parts that maybe the company should have been making.
The originals meters were overbuild, if there is such a term, all the screws were 1/2" too long, the air intake hose/etc was too complicated. These meters were introduced in 1947, but it took Bennett/ECO to 1975 to realize they were overbuilt. It was at that time that Bennett/ECO made many changes in their meters.

I have restored over 300 of these meters, and they have always worked when they left here, that is the most important thing.

Read this description of what a restored ECO should be:
