I was a bidder also. Anyone here got it? While I was certain it wasn't a lens from Interstate Oil out of Alabama, it was close enough I showed my friend at Interstate. They confirmed it wasn't theirs but thought it was an old Interstate named company out of Mississippi. If that were to be proved true, it wouldn't explain why it's in Pennsylvania. So I don't know. Bet it cleans up nice though.

Looking for any Alabama based globes and advertising such as Coastal, Rebel, Interstate Oil, Foster Oil (supertane), Mutual, Oil Well, etc...

I was watching that one and would have bid, but I don't think it will clean up nice. If you look really close at the pictures, it appears as though this may be an unbaked lens. It looks like much of the black is lifting off of the glass. Look at the "E" in "Gasoline" in the above picture...most of the black is off. If you try to clean the inside, I am afraid it may end up looking worse.

I offer quart can re-lidding, can rolling, lid stamping, and dent removal.

I was watching it too, and I'm with Tee Tee. This lens would have looked worse by cleaning it. If you looked close, the black on the lettering was very weak and the other lettering had a lot of checkering in the coloring.
It looked like a tar type substance at the bottom of the lens and I'm thinking that after it was removed, it might have looked pretty bleak!
