I recently acquired a Gilbarco 996 twin computing pump. Being new to the game, I have a few basic questions. It is in reasonable shape, but needs some detail work. Is this worth restoring? Do people typically remove the pump mechanisms or do they leave them in? Did these pumps ever have globes? It does have an electrical connection on the top, but that may have been for a light rather than a globe. I would like to do the pump in Sinclair colors. Does anyone have a color and decal scheme for this pump, assuming Sinclair used this style of pump? Thanks in advance for any assistance or advice.

Read to gut posted earlier. As far as restoring, it really is your preferance. I don't know about your 996, but my 1004 has a knockout on the lid to install a globe base and globe.
For me the restoration process is enjoyable. Even sandblasting the old paint and gunk! I look forward to sending the old panels out for powdercoating and then receiving them in new painted condition.
