I bought this beat up out of shape 16.5" globe body a number of years ago at an antique mall we stopped at. I have straightened / repaired on it on and off since. Last year at Iowa Gas I bought a couple of lenses to fit it and make sure all my work was good for paint.
The Globe has so many lines stamped in it that it looks great from any angle and now I know it was well worth the time I spent hammering away on it!

I never relized how big these were and I Now have to find a home for it.

Thanks
Mike

Looks good. Nice work. 16.5" is a big one. My doesn't fit on my shelf due to height.

ditto on the size. i had a couple of the regular ESSO 16.5" globes a few years back that were dug out of a barn hayloft. i restored the bodies & ended up selling them since i couldnt find a safe place to keep them at the time.
