I have a friend looking for a Ford Benzol globe, anybody have any source? Have there been any repros of this globe? How much for either repro or original? Thanks for the help.

Finding an original would be nill or rare.
They were reproduced in the 70's, for capco bodies.

Dennis, I've been 2 years searching hi and lo for these as well with no luck... even contacted a handful of Ford memorabilia collector types.

If you come across a pair, keep your ole Grand Rapids buddy in mind.

I wonder how many I'd have to buy to get someone skilled to repop a batch? Hmmmm?

The globe book lists six different Ford Benzol globes.

There is only one known example of one version.
There are fewer than ten known examples of each of the three other versions that have "Ford" on them. My guess is there are fewer than ten of the three versions combined! These were all used at Detroit area Ford dealers that sold gasoline.

The two "common" versions are still rare. The two most common versions do NOT say Ford on them. Those are the only ones that were used at locations other than Ford dealers.

If you are looking for an original that says "Ford" on it you better have deep pockets. You better be patient too. I've seen a total of ONE of the keyhole shaped one piece Ford Benzol globes sell in the past ten years. If one does come up for sale, its likely to find a permanant home and not be offered again for 20 or more years. If you had one would you sell it? I wouldn't.

You can add me to the list of collectors that would like to have a Ford Benzol globe (any version).
Bob
